Where to Find Me After G+

Where to Find Me After G+ (Imported from G+ on 2019-Jan-17.)

Photo blog: https://photoblog.tomgatermann.com

I have exported and archived my G+ posts to this blog, which is where I'll be posting new stuff from now on. I will share those posts to G+, until the G+ shut down occurs, which is currently supposed to happen sometime in April 2019.

Update

This blog is now my main photo posting location. I have stopped being active on Pluspora and MeWe, and there for have removed the links to those profiles on this page.

  2. Thanks, Shelly Gunderson! I'm slowly working on cleaning my blog up. I also have your photo a day blog bookmarked.

  3. Look forward to seeing you over on Pluspora, Tom Gatermann! Take care, brother. 😎

  4. Thanks, The Real Slim Shady. I've updated the post with that #hashtag. I've looked through the G+ Mass Migration community some, but probably not enough. Thanks for the reminder.

  5. Thanks, á™…Yᙖᙓᖇ á—ªOá™…™. Funny you mention Pluspora, as I've been giving it more thought lately. I haven't been on there in months, but I'm not really taking all that much to MeWe, though I do like the interface more. But the groups in my opinion are just too much to handle. There is no way I can keep up with them, at least at this time. If MeWe really implements a true public posting option, I might keep going with it and Pluspora. To me, MeWe is too much of a walled garden.

  6. Tom Gatermann No worries. Keep talkin' to your Geeps here, and catch you on the other side.

  7. Tom Gatermann, a walled garden. You hit the nail on the head with your description. I feel the same way and like how you chose to word it. :-)

  8. á™…Yᙖᙓᖇ á—ªOá™…™, the walled garden seems to be an appealing option for some, but I just don't get it. Maybe if I posted things or talked about things that I wanted to be more private, MeWe's sealed-off world would make more sense. If MeWe does implement a truly public posting feature, I'll probably give it more time. Though, I think for now I'm more interested in getting my blog fine tuned, and will use that for my primary photo posting location.

And for large groups, like the Join in Daily group, I just can't keep up. I log into and check the group and there are always a hundred new posts. I just don't have that kind of time to scroll through a hundred or more posts. G+ was easier to follow themes, in my opinion.

  9. Tom Gatermann I strongly suspect MeWe won't open to public forums, for various reasons.

Much of what's there isn't meant for public eyes or sunlight.

  10. á™…Yᙖᙓᖇ á—ªOá™…™ and Tom Gatermann . I checked out Pluspora this past week. Photos seem to display better than they used to. They just did an update so that may be why. There seems to be a bit of an issue with links from Google Photos but you can upload directly. Right now I am liking it more than MeWe. Walled Garden is a perfect discription and I really have no desire to go where I have to be in groups to see posts. I just want to see posts. I like that about Pluspora though if I look at EVERYone there is crap I don't care about so I like that I can view by Aspects. Right now I am more inclined to be there than MeWe.

  11. I agree with what you say, Shelly Gunderson. I really like photo themes, but I just don't know if they work well in the group format. I like how in G+ I see the theme photos that people I follow share, and if I want to see more I can by searching the hashtag. But with the groups in MeWe, I see every single post.

I will have to log into #Pluspora this week and post a photo or two to see how the new update makes them look.

  12. Please let me know what you think when you do. I always resize my photos so they have always looked fine there. Tag me there or let me know here. Thanks

  13. Shelly Gunderson, here's a link to a photo I just posted over on Pluspora.

I also always resize my photos for uploading to the Web. So, for me as well, the image limits of Pluspora have never been a problem.

  14. Looks great to me. What did you think?

  15. I think the image upload looks fine. I noticed on this upload that I didn't get the "show more" link you have to click to show the entire image, like I have on previous images.
