Union Pacific (UP) 6826 works as the distributed power unit (DPU) on this loaded coal train that is rolling east on the UP's Jefferson City Subdivision. The train is passing through the Knox Avenue Crossing, and passing under the Hampton Avenue Overpass. February 26, 2006. St. Louis, Missouri.

UP 9402 - Flinton Station Road - Chester Subdivision - Modoc, IL

Union Pacific (UP) 9402, UP 9437, and UP 9557 lead a train north on the UP's Chester Subdivision at Flinton Station Road.The train had just crossed over the Kaskaskia River, a little south of this location. March 3, 2006. South of Modoc, Illinois.

AMTK 186 - Amtrak's Ann Rutledge - Superliner Cars

AMTK 186 - Maplewood, MO With three  Superliner cars  in tow, AMTK 186 and another Amtrak locomotive lead Amtrak's Ann Rutledge west on Union Pacific's Jefferson City Subdivision. In the distance, a DPU on an eastbound coal train is splitting the signals that guard the crossovers at  Control Point D007 , which are just to the east of Canterbury Avenue. These days, Amtrak trains that run between St. Louis, Missouri, and Kansas City, Missouri, are called the Missouri River Runner trains. The Ann Rutledge originally ran between Chicago, Illinois, St. Louis, Missouri, and Kansas City, Missouri. Amtrak trains running between Chicago and St. Louis are now known as Lincoln Service trains. Illinois Terminal McKinely Bridge Approach - St. Louis, MO

ITS McKinley Bridge Approach - St. Louis, MO This view is looking north up the old Illinois Terminal (IT/ITS) approach to the McKinley Bridge from Branch Street, in North St. Louis, MO. The former railway bridge approach is now a hiking and biking trail. The Illinois Terminal was originally an electrified railway, and the old catenary wire supports are still standing above the pathway. Up until June 2004, this approach was still used for railroad operations , though the trains that used it only went up the approach a little ways. Railroad Switching Services of Missouri (RSM/RSSM) operated a train on the old Illinois Terminal Highline Bridge over North St. Louis that delivered newsprint to the St. Louis Post Dispatch. RSM trains would back out of a small rail yard to the south of Branch Street (behind where this photograph was taken from) and move up the approach a short distance, then switch to the track that accessed the Highline Bridge. GOT 233 and GOT 557 at Toronto, ON In this image, during the afternoon rush hour, GO Transit (GOT) 233, a cab control car, is bringing up the rear of an east bound commuter train that is heading toward Toronto Union Station , on the Union Station Rail Corridor . Meanwhile, GO Transit (GOT) 557 and its train were stopped and waiting to head east into Toronto Union Station. In the background is Rogers Centre, home to the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team. The Union Station Rail Corridor (USRC) is a busy rail line that stretches to the east and west of Toronto Union Station. The USRC runs, approximately, between the Don River, to the east of union station, and Bathurst Street, to the west of Union Station. September 16, 2015. Toronto, Ontario.
