Totality During The August 2017 Eclipse At Nashville, TN.

Image
I didn't buy a solar filter for my lenses to use during the eclipse, since I decided to just wait until totality to take my image. I snapped a quick shot of the eclipse's totality, and then spent the rest of the time enjoying the eclipse with my family and a few friends. Sometimes it's best to not always be looking through a camera. Photo taken: August 21, 2017. Nashville, TN.

August 12, 2017. Adams, Tennessee. While I was driving along CSX's Henderson Subdivision, I spotted what looked to be construction work progressing on a new bridge span to cross the Red River. I'm not sure if this is for a double-tracking project or just a new replacement bridge. Photo © Tom Gatermann.

Image
Windows on the Hôtel Place D'Armes in Montreal While standing in the Place d’Armes, in front of the Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal (Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal ), the windows on the Hôtel Place D'Armes caught my eye. I found it intriguing that each row of windows was different then the row above or below. Photograph taken: July 16, 2013, Montréal, QC, Canada.

Standpipe and Stairs - Compton Heights Water Tower In St. Louis

Image
April 23, 2006. St. Louis, Missouri. This view is looking up between the old standpipe and the stairway inside the Compton Heights Water Tower. The water tower is no longer used, but once or twice a year it is opened to the public for people to climb the stairs to the observation deck at the top. The water tower wasn't a typical one that held water, but served as a way to manage the water pressure in the city's water system. Photo © Tom Gatermann.
