UP 5976 is the DPU on a Coal Train on the Chester Subdivision Over the Kaskaskia River
Union Pacific 5976 is working as the DPU on this south bound load coal train, which is crossing over the Kaskaskia River on UP's Chester Subdivision.

March 3, 2006. South of Modoc, Illinois.

    1. Thanks a lot, Shelly. This was one of my favorite places to take photographs along the UP's Chester Sub. With the bridge spans being open on each side of the main span, you could get some nice shots from here. This image, as well as the other I have taken at this spot, were taken from a boat launch area down river from the bridge.
