A male northern cardinal among the leaves

The other day I spotted this male northern cardinal wandering around my back yard, near the edge of the forest. He appeared to be looking for food, as he would peck down toward the ground every so often.

I've seen quite a few northern cardinals in my yard over the last few months. The cardinals really stand out well, so they are easy to spot among the forest.

  1. Very nice! I love Cardinals. I have not been feeding this summer so have not seen many birds around. I look forward to having them back in the yard.

    1. Thanks a lot, Shelly.

I've seen quite a few cardinals and blue jays in our yard, and the forest behind the house. They really stand out well. Hopefully, I'll be able to capture a few shots of them when it snows here this winter.
