Heading east on Union Pacific's Jefferson City Subdivision, CITX 3092 leads a freight train along Manchester Avenue. The train had been waiting at Knox Avenue, just beyond the overpass in the distance, for clearance to proceed east toward Grand Interlocking. The train is approaching the Sublette Avenue crossing.

  1. Nice shot. I have not seen a CITX locomotive before I don't think. Interesting about the Interlocking.

    1. Thanks, Shelly. WhenI took this image back in 2006, CITX locomotives seemed like they were fairly common, at least in the St. Louis area it seemed they were common. This was one of the few SD type locomotives I saw from CITX. Most were wide-nosed cab units of the GE AC series variety.
