Pulpit - Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal This side pulpit at the Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal (Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal) caught my eye while I was touring the basilica. I found the stairway leading up to the pulpit to be very intriguing. The stairway seems such an ornate design, with its wood banisters and railings twisting up, around, and even under itself. In the below photograph, the view is looking past the side pulpit's stairs toward the main altar of the basilica. Pulpit stairs and alter - Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal About the images Tripods and flashes are not allowed to be used inside the basilica, and the church is extremely dimly lit. So, I had to set the ISO to 6400, and hand hold the camera, shooting at 1/60th of a second, at F/4, for both photographs. Post processing was done in Adobe Camera RAW and Adobe Photoshop, utilizing the Nik Collection's Silver Efex Pro and Dfine (to reduce the noise a bit). Photographs taken: July 1...

This is the Jan Hus Monument in Old Town Prague Square. Jan Hus was burnt at the stake after refusing to recant his reformist views, by the Roman Catholic Church. His death was seen as an outrage by the Czech people and was one of the catalysts that led to what would become known as the Hussite Wars. The building in the background is the Palác Kinských, and it is home to part of the National Gallery (Národní Galerie). Minneapolis Sculpture Garden This is a panorama made from seven images stitched together in Lightroom. The view is of the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden under going a renovation. The only sculpture left was the Spoonbridge and Cherry, which can be seen toward the center-left of the photograph. The photograph was taken from the approach to the Irene Hixon Whitney Bridge , part of which can be seen on the right side of the photograph. Saint John Of Nepomuk's Silver Tomb - St. Vitus Cathedral The silver covered tomb of Saint John of Nepomuk (Czech: Svatý Jan Nepomucký) inside Saint Vitus Cathedral, at Prague Castle. When I took this photograph, I did not realize that the tomb was covered in silver. It was not until after I was back home, and researched the saint that I became aware that his tomb was covered in silver. Photo taken on: April 29, 2015, at Prague, Czechia.
