  Cloud rotation As my family was driving down one of the local roads I looked up at the storm clouds and noticed a funnel cloud trying to form right above us. We were stopped and stuck in traffic so we couldn't quickly drive and get away. I kept watching it and, thankfully, the funnel cloud quickly broke apart. This photograph shows the residual rotation left in the cloud after the funnel cloud broke up.  What a welcome to New York!  Photograph taken on June 30, 2021, near Syracuse, New York.

Lightning - Filley, NE With rain falling in the distance, a lightning bolt arcs through the stormy Nebraska sky above US 136. This storm put on an amazing display of lightning. Photo taken: April 29, 2010. Filley, Nebraska.

A lightning bold strikes arcs between the sky and ground near Tecumseh, Nebraska. This storm became a rather fierce one, with the lighting becoming frequent. April 29, 2010. Tecumseh, Nebraska.

Telephone poles and wires stand against an approaching storm, near the town of Tecumseh, Nebraska . This storm ended up being a violent one. There were multiple tornadoes, and the strong rains made driving a bit scary at times. While my friends and I didn't actually witness any tornadoes, we later saw on the news one skimmed the outskirts of a town as we drove through the town.  Photo taken: April 29, 2010.
