Lake Mead from the top of Hoover Dam - August 2010

A view of the low water level on Lake Mead at Hoover Dam.

Looking out at Lake Mead on the Colorado River, from the top of Hoover Dam. Lake Mead was at a much lower water level than it had been in years past, as can be seen from the higher water level mark in this photograph. The line across the river is a barrier marking the point that water craft are not allowed to go past.

Photo taken: August 18, 2010, at Hoover Dam, Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
