Q364, led by CSXT 848, at CP285 and CP286 of the Syracuse Terminal Sub
Back on October 22, I headed over to CP286 on the Syracuse Terminal Subdivision. As I arrived train Q364-21 was already rolling east through the control point.

The light was changing fast, and I took the above photograph just as the last of the sunlight peeked through the clouds at CP286. Here, Q364-21 was slowing down as it passed under the cantilever signal bridge to the east of the signal bridge in the first photograph, above.

Soon, 364-21 came to a complete stop, so I headed back over to CP285, at DeWitt Yard, to see if I could capture a photograph of the locomotives. CSXT 848 and CSXT 6548 were on the point of the train, and were stopped at the control point signals on the eastern edge of CP285. The two concrete towers behind the train are some old New York Central coaling towers.

Cool that the coaling towers still exist.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad they are still standing, but I'm sure it's because they are probably too expensive to tear down.
