CSX 904026 - Gallatin, TN CSXT 904026 , painted in an old Operation Lifesaver paint scheme, is seen here sitting along side the  CSX Main Line Subdivision . The caboose looks likes it down and out, but it is still used on the local trains in the area. At least it was being used a year ago when I saw it on a CSX local in Gallatin . The windows on the sides have been welded shut with metal plates. Photo taken: October 8, 2018. Gallatin, Tennessee.

CSX 3144, CSX 5446, and CSX 7674 Rolling North at Gallatin - Video

While out doing some errands with my daughter, we saw this train, which she "demanded" we try to get ahead of so that we could take a photo of. Since I only had my phone with me I decided to capture some video. I shortened the duration of the train passing, and got a couple of different angles of the train. The video is fifty-three seconds in duration. The train is rolling north through Gallatin, on the CSX's Main Line Subdivision , heading toward Louisville, KY. On the point are CSXT 3144, CSXT 5446, and CSXT 7674. Video taken: November 15, 2017. Gallatin, Tennessee.

Usually, the caboose is used on local trains that switch in the Gallatin, Tennessee, area. It can often be found parked along the main line is the general area of West Eastland Avenue and Durham Avenue when it is not in use. These days CSX 904026 is used as a shoving platform on the locals when the trains are being pushed down the tracks. Photograph taken: February 22, 2017, at Gallatin, Tennessee.
