DART 199 - Dallas, TX A DART Red Line train, lead by light rail vehicle 199, is sitting next to a vehicle at the Pearl/Arts District Station , while both vehicles wait for the signal to cross Pearl Street. The Pearl/Arts District Station sits on the northeastern edge of downtown Dallas. As well as the Red Line, DART's Blue Line , Green Line , and Orange Line trains also serve this station. Lightning - Filley, NE With rain falling in the distance, a lightning bolt arcs through the stormy Nebraska sky above US 136. This storm put on an amazing display of lightning. Photo taken: April 29, 2010. Filley, Nebraska.

Storm clouds - Union, NE While on a road trip in Nebraska and Kansas, my friends and I witnessed this storm beginning to form over the area we were in. The storm eventually formed into quite a fierce one, with lots of lightning , rain, wind, and even a tornado, per reports we saw on the news later. Blades of grass are highlighted against a dark background of trees in the Marais Des Cygnes National Wildlife Refuge in the state of Kansas. Per the U.S. Fish & Wildlife's website for the refuge, the refuge covers 7,500 acres and was formed to protect and restore bottomland hardwood forests. A lightning bold strikes arcs between the sky and ground near Tecumseh, Nebraska. This storm became a rather fierce one, with the lighting becoming frequent. April 29, 2010. Tecumseh, Nebraska.

Telephone poles and wires stand against an approaching storm, near the town of Tecumseh, Nebraska . This storm ended up being a violent one. There were multiple tornadoes, and the strong rains made driving a bit scary at times. While my friends and I didn't actually witness any tornadoes, we later saw on the news one skimmed the outskirts of a town as we drove through the town.  Photo taken: April 29, 2010. DART Blue Line train - Pearl/Arts District - Dallas, TX With a large iPhone advertisement in the background, a DART Blue Line light rail train leaves the Pearl/Arts District Station on the northeastern edge of downtown Dallas. This was the second large tech company advertisement sign that I saw in Dallas. Hoover Dam intake towers Seen in this photograph are two of the four large intake towers at Hoover Dam. These two towers are on the Arizona side of the dam, while the other two are on the Nevada side of the dam. The intake towers draw water into the dam to provide energy to turn the electrical turbines in the dam's power plant. After powering the turbines, the water is released at the base of the dam .
