An inbound Green Line train running on the B Branch, crosses St. Paul Street, near Boston University. The photograph was actually taken from one of the dorm buildings at the university. The train was heading toward downtown Boston, MA. At this point, the line runs at grade level down the middle of Commonwealth Avenue , but before getting near downtown, the line will descend into a subway tunnel. MBTA Orange Line train - Boston, MA An outbound Orange Line train is arriving at Community College station. The train is headed toward Oak Grove. Community College station is located underneath an overpass on Interstate 93 that leads to the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge . Airport Station - Boston, MA This view is looking looking out of the outbound side of Airport Station. At Airport Station, Blue Line trains heading outbound come up from the subway tunnel to ground level and switch from using third rail power to overhead power drawn through pantographs on the subway cars. Inbound trains do the opposite and switch from overhead catenary power to third rail power.
