  CSXT 4014, an SD40-3 rebuild, is switching a block of intermodal cars at a snow covered DeWitt Yard.   Back in January of this year, CSXT 4014 was switching blocks of intermodal cars at CSX's DeWitt Yard. CSXT 4014 is pulling a cut of cars west down the Departure Yard Lead from the Departure Yard. The Departure Yard sits east of the I-481 bridge in the background. Almost all of the intermodal trains that pass through DeWitt swap blocks of intermodal cars there. In addition, the yard itself is designated as an inland port and trailers and containers are dropped off and picked up there by customers. Below, I009-26 , one of the intermodal trains that works DeWitt Yard daily, is departing DeWitt Yard via the South Runner . I009 runs from Port Newark, New Jersey, to Bedford Park, Illinois, in the Chicago area. With fresh snow on the ground at DeWitt Yard, CSXT 4014 is pacing I009-26 west at DeWitt Yard.  Photographs taken on January 27, 2023, at East Syracuse, New York.

I came across a switch job working on the eastern end of DeWitt Yard in Minoa, New York. CSXT 4089 and CSXT 4046 were working with a string of freight cars along North Central Avenue, just to the east of the pedestrian bridge (known as the Green Bridge). The two locomotives were switching cars in what is known as the Local Yard at CSX's DeWitt Yard. CSXT 4089 and CSXT 4046 CSXT 4089 and CSXT 4046 are  SD40-3 rebuilds . They were both originally built as SD40-2 models, by EMD. According to RRPicturesArchive.net, CSXT 4046 was built as Louisville and Nashville (LN) 8122, in 1980. I'm unsure when 4089 was built. The SD40-3 rebuilds feature new cabs, control systems, and positive train control (PTC).  CSXT 4089 and 4046 on the Local Yard Drill track, before "drilling" back into the Local Yard.  After taking the kids to Lewis Park in Minoa, NY., we decided to head over to Kirkville, NY., to catch Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited, with AMTK 108 leading the train. We got lucky, and also caught a CSX manifest freight leaving DeWitt Yard. Auto 280/CP 280 on the Syracuse Terminal Subdivision Looking east toward Auto 280 and CP280, while being eaten alive by mosquitos. After finding a nice spot next to the Syracuse Terminal Subdivision (STS), along Saintsville Road, at Town Isle Road, and getting attacked by New York's native "bird", the mosquito, we had to move east a bit more. After driving east, a short distance, we found another nice place to pull off of the road at the Auto 280 and CP 280 block signals (located at milepost (MP) QC280.5). CSXT 4022 leads a train south through the cemetery. The railroad line was here first, and the cemetery was built and expanded around it. CSXT 4022 leads a manifest freight train south through Nashville National Cemetery , on CSX's Nashville Terminal Subdivision (NTS). The NTS rail line splits the cemetery evenly, on a slightly angled north-south axis. CSXT 4022 is an SD40-3 , rebuilt from an SD40-2.
