AMTK 186 - Amtrak's Ann Rutledge - Superliner Cars

AMTK 186 - Maplewood, MO With three  Superliner cars  in tow, AMTK 186 and another Amtrak locomotive lead Amtrak's Ann Rutledge west on Union Pacific's Jefferson City Subdivision. In the distance, a DPU on an eastbound coal train is splitting the signals that guard the crossovers at  Control Point D007 , which are just to the east of Canterbury Avenue. These days, Amtrak trains that run between St. Louis, Missouri, and Kansas City, Missouri, are called the Missouri River Runner trains. The Ann Rutledge originally ran between Chicago, Illinois, St. Louis, Missouri, and Kansas City, Missouri. Amtrak trains running between Chicago and St. Louis are now known as Lincoln Service trains. GO Transit - GOT 233 - GOT 557 - Union Station Rail Corridor

GOT 233 and GOT 557 at Toronto, ON In this image, during the afternoon rush hour, GO Transit (GOT) 233, a cab control car, is bringing up the rear of an east bound commuter train that is heading toward Toronto Union Station , on the Union Station Rail Corridor . Meanwhile, GO Transit (GOT) 557 and its train were stopped and waiting to head east into Toronto Union Station. In the background is Rogers Centre, home to the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team. The Union Station Rail Corridor (USRC) is a busy rail line that stretches to the east and west of Toronto Union Station. The USRC runs, approximately, between the Don River, to the east of union station, and Bathurst Street, to the west of Union Station. September 16, 2015. Toronto, Ontario.

BNSF 4417 Passes By UP 8024 on The Merchants Subdivision In St. Louis, MO.

A BNSF train, led by BNSF 4417 and BNSF 801, passes a parked Union Pacific coal train, with UP 8024 on the end, on the TRRA's Merchants Subdivision at Compton Avenue. The BNSF train was heading west toward Grand Interlocking (just to the west of this location) where it would get back onto the BNSF Hannibal Subdivision, before heading to BNSF's Lindenwood Yard. Once at Lindenwood Yard, the BNSF train would either continue on west on BNSF's Cuba Subdivision or south on BNSF's River Subdivision. UP 8024 is the distributed power unit (DPU) on this coal train. KCS 2016 - UP KC Metro Subdivision Kansas City Southern 2016 (a GE AC44CW) leads a train of covered hoppers west on Union Pacific's KC Metro Subdivision , as a BNSF freight train rolls across the southern approach to the Hannibal Bridge . In the background is the ASB (Amour-Swift-Burlington) Bridge which is also a railroad bridge. Both the Hannibal Bridge and the ASB Bridge cross over the Missouri River between Kansas City, Missouri, and North Kansas City, Missouri. Both bridges are owned by the BNSF Railway. UP 8183 - Menard Junction - Chester Subdivision - 2/5/05

UP 8183 - Menard Junction - Chester, IL A train hauling automobile frames rolls south on track one of the Union Pacific's Chester Subdivision, while a coal train lead by Union Pacific 8183 pulls up to wait on track two at Menard Junction. After the train with the automobile frames cleared the junction, UP 8183 got the green signal to proceed south. Menard Junction Menard Junction (milepost 61.0) can be a bottle neck at times because heading south from the junction, the Union Pacific Chester Subdivision goes from two main tracks to one main track. South of Menard Junction the line alternates between one and two main tracks the rest of the way to Charleston Junction (milepost 171.9) in Dexter, Missouri. North of the junction, for sixty-one miles, between Menard Junction and Valley Junction (milepost 0.0), in East St. Louis, Illinois, the Chester Subdivision has two main tracks. Passing coal trains on the UP Chester Subdivision - 2/5/05

UP 8183 - Passing coal trains - Maeystown, IL In the distance Union Pacific 8183 leads a southbound loaded coal train past a northbound empty coal train on the UP's Chester Subdivision, Valmeyer, Illinois, and Chalfin Bridge, Illinois. This shot was taken at about mile post 26 on the Chester Subdivision, at KK Road .  Chester Subdivision The Chester Subdivision starts to the north on the southern edge of Valley Junction (milepost 0.0) in East St. Louis, Illinois. The subdivision heads south through southern Illinois, staying fairly close to the Mississippi River, until it gets to the town of Thebes, Illinois. At Thebes the Chester Subdivision crosses over the Mississippi River, on a bridge referred to by the railroad as SIMBCO (milepost 119.7), into the state of Missouri, and heads toward Dexter, Missouri. At Dexter, the subdivision ends at Charleston Junction, milepost 171.9.  Popeye On a side note, the subdivision is named after the town of Chester, Illinois (...

In the distance is UP 7240, on the point of a southbound train that was being re-crewed. Once the train has a new crew it will head south on UP's Chester Subdivision. UP 7261 - Kearny Subdivison - Brady, NE

UP 7261 - Brady, NE Seen here is UP 7261 leading a manifest freight train west on Union Pacific's Kearney Subdivision, past two other trains, as the day begins to fade out. The train is heading toward Union Pacific's Bailey Yard in North Platte, Nebraska, which is about 20 miles further west of this location. At Bailey Yard, the train will either be reclassified into other trains, or it will continue on west from North Platte.  The Kearny Subdivision runs between Grand Island, Nebraska, to North Platte, Nebraska, and it is part of Union Pacific's Overland Route. Between Gibbon, Nebraska, which is about 30 miles west of Grand Island, and North Platte, the line has three main tracks. At Gibbon, the Marysville Subdivision connects with the Kearney Subdivision.
