MATA Trolley 553 MATA trolley 553 rolls north on South Main Street. Trolley 553 was built by the Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramways Board, circa 1927. Unfortunately, in 2014, 553 caught on fire and was damaged beyond repair.  April 29, 2011. Memphis, Tennessee.

UP 8108 at Dupo Yard While waiting for a new crew, Union Pacific 8108 sits at the north end of Dupo Yard on an empty coal train. Once the train has a new crew it will proceed north on UP's Chester Subdivision to Valley Junction in East St. Louis, IL. UP 7142 - Sherman, MO Leading an empty coal train west over the Meramec River on Union Pacific's Jefferson City Subdivision is UP 7142. The train was heading to the Power River Coal Basin for another load of coal. While, I was on the wrong side of the bridge to get the best light, I'm still fairly happy with this shot. Sitting without a crew on Union Pacific's (UP) Jefferson City Subdivision , is Canadian National (CN) 8020. CN 8020 is on the point of UP train MKCAS14. This train was coming from Kansas City, MO., and going to the Alton & Southern's Gateway Yard in East St. Louis, IL. The locomotive is an EMD built (an EMD SD70M-2. April 16, 2008. Eureka, Missouri. CSXT 4022 leads a train south through the cemetery. The railroad line was here first, and the cemetery was built and expanded around it. CSXT 4022 leads a manifest freight train south through Nashville National Cemetery , on CSX's Nashville Terminal Subdivision (NTS). The NTS rail line splits the cemetery evenly, on a slightly angled north-south axis. CSXT 4022 is an SD40-3 , rebuilt from an SD40-2. Chicago and Northwestern 8507 (a GE C40-8) is on the point of a Union Pacific train rolling south at mile post 10 on the UP's Chester Subdivision. I am actually not sure which of the locomotives is spewing the smoke out but whichever one it is, it is doing a great job. This image was scanned from a Kodak Ektachrome slide on a Nikon Coolscan 9000 ED film scanner. Maid of the Mist A Maid of the Mist tour boat nears the Horseshoe Falls, at Niagara Falls. The Horseshoe Falls is the largest of the three water falls that comprise Niagara Falls . In the upper right corner is a Gull Island, and next to right of the island is the scow barge that has been lodged above the Horseshoe Falls for over a 100 years. Photo taken: July 8, 2013. Union Pacific (UP) 5914 leads UP train CCFNA-15 west on UP's Jefferson City Subdivision, at Papin Street. The locomotives have just passed through Grand Interlocking , located just to the east of this location. Train CCFNA-15 is an empty coal train returning to North Antelope Mine in the Powder River Coal Basin of Wyoming, from a power plant at Coffeen, Illinois (located on the Norfolk Southern). Visitors Center at Hoover Dam Looking toward the visitors' center and some of the power line towers at Hoover Dam . In the upper left corner of the image you can see the Mike O'Callaghan - Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge. At the time that I took this image, the bridge was under construction. Before the bridge was completed in 2010, vehicular traffic on US 93 had to cross over the top of the dam, which required a security check fro every car traveling over it. BNSF 643, BNSF 6943, and WC 3026 - Hannibal Subdivision BNSF 643, BNSF 6943, and Wisconsin Central 3026 lead a BNSF manifest freight train east near Sublette Avenue. Painted in a "map" scheme, WC 3026 is WC's 10th anniversary unit that also celebrated Wisconsin's sesquicentennial anniversary of statehood. BNSF 643 is a former Santa Fe locomotive that is still painted in Santa Fe's Warbonne t paint scheme. Photo take: December 24, 2006, at St. Louis, Missouri.

An end-of-train (EOT) device , commonly called a "FRED" (flashing-rear-end-device hangs on the end of a southbound train traveling on Union Pacific's Chester Subdivision. For those who may not know, these devices are what replaced railway cabooses. They transmit information about the train, such as air brake pressure, to the locomotive, where the crew can see the information. With the wide openness of the land along the Chester Subdivision in this area photograph can capture both the front and end of the trains here in a single image. Photo taken: November 6, 2005.
