GOT 242 and GOT 557 GO Transit (GOT) 242, a cab control car, leads an afternoon rush hour commuter train west past two other GO Transit trains on the Union Station Rail Corridor (USRC). The two trains to the right of GOT 242, were stopped while waiting for clearance to enter the Union Station complex. The train on the far right was being operated in push mode by Go Transit (GOT) 557 . Meanwhile, the train in the middle was being operated in pull mode by an unknown Go Transit locomotive.  Union Station Rail Corridor The USRC stretches to the east and west of Union Station and has an endless parade of commuter trains. At peak times it's not unusual to see three or more trains all entering or leaving the Union Station complex at once. Southwest Chief at St. Louis, MO Some time ago, on October 17, 2004, Amtrak's Southwest Chief took a detour route through St. Louis, due to a train derailment on its normal route on BNSF's Marceline Subdivision , through central and northern Missouri. The Chief is seen here sitting at the old St. Louis Amtrak Station in downtown St. Louis. This image was captured from the 18th Street bridge, which is just to the west of the station. The highway bridge in the background is Interstate 64/US 40. Today's Routing Usually, the Southwest Chief uses the Marceline Subdivision between Kanas City, Missouri, and Fort Madison, Iowa, and then from Fort Madison heads across northern Illinois to Chicago on the Chillicoth Subdivisoin. For the detour, the Southwest Chief used either Union Pacific's Sedalia Subdivision or River Subdivision , from Kansas City to Jefferson City, Missouri. AMTK 192 at Knox Ave. in St. Louis, MO AMTK 192 leads Amtrak's  Ann Rutledge west on Union Pacific's Jefferson City Subdivision at Knox Avenue. Usually, the Ann Rutledge runs with single level Amfleet passenger cars, but when ridership levels are high Amtrak Superliner cars are often substituted for the single level cars. The train's next stop will be Kirkwood, MO . Eventually, the train will reach its final destination of Kansas City, MO. February 26, 2006. St. Louis, Missouri.

Amtk 156 at Maplewood, MO Amtk 156 leads Amtrak's Ann Rutledge west on Union Pacific's Jefferson City Subdivision, along Greenwood, Boulevard, in Maplewood, Missouri. The Ann Rutledge's next stop will be at Kirkwood, Missouri.  The Ann Rutledge Today, Amtrak's Ann Rutledge has been renamed. Originally, the Ann Rutledge ran between Chicago, Illinois, St. Louis, Missouri, and Kansas City, Missouri. Now, Amtrak trains running between Chicago and St. Louis are known as Amtrak's Lincoln Service trains, and Amtrak trains running between St. Louis and Kansas City are now called Missouri River Runner trains. AMTK 159 - Amtrak Lincoln Service Train An Amtrak Lincoln Service train, lead by Lead by AMTK 159, is see here rolling south on Union Pacific's Springfield Subdivision , along side North Market Street. Railjet window view This view is looking out of the window of Car 21 on Railjet train 73 on the route between Prague's main train station (Praha hl. n.) and Vienna's Central Station (Wien Hauptbahnhof). The train at this point is about ten minutes away from Pardubice hl. n. If you have never been to Prague, we both highly recommend a visit. The locomotive is a Vectron MS type, built by Siemens in 2014.The partially shown building on the far left edge of the photograph is the State Opera (Státní opera) building. ČD 362 084-6 - Prague's main train station A Czech Railways (České dráhy) train, lead by locomotive ČD 362 084-6, is leaving Prague's main train station. Behind the train two other trains wait to depart the station. This train station is a beehive of activity. One train after another was either arriving or departing while I was there for about an hour. CD 163 070-6 - Prague ČD 163 070-6, a České dráhy (Czech Railways) locomotive, leads a passenger train away from Praha hl.n. (Prague's main train station). ČD 163 070-6 is a Class 163 locomotive that was built (1991) by Škoda, and it runs on 3000V DC current. From more recent photographs I have seen of this locomotive, since this photograph was taken in 2015, it is now painted in Czech Railways' blue and white paint scheme . VIA 911 - Toronto, ON VIA 911 leads Train 87 west out of the Toronto Union Station complex, on the Union Station Rail Corridor (USRC). VIA Train 87 runs between Toronto, Ontario and Sarnia, Ontario. Sarnia is on the east side of the St. Clair River, across from Port Huron, MI. The USRC is a busy transit conduit in Toronto. On Christmas Eve in 2004, Rail Cruise America's (RPCX) St. Louis Car Company (SLCC) 102 sits under the train shed at Union Station. SLCC 102 (an EMD F9PHA) was one of the locomotives used for a dinner train that was based out of Union Station. Unfortunately, in just over a year the dinner train service came to an end, and the locomotive and other rolling stock was sold off. The locomotives were eventually sold to Norfolk Southern, while the passenger cars made their way to Kansas City Southern for use on the two railroads executive/business trains. Toronto Union Station A view of Toronto Union Station and its train shed, as seen from the outdoor observation deck of the CN Tower. METX (Metra) 199 With the high-green signal in the distance, on BNSF's Chicago Subdivision, a Metra commuter train gets ready to depart the station in La Grange, IL. The train is being pushed by METX 199, which is an EMD F40PHM-2 that was built in May of 1992. The train's final destination will be Union Station in downtown Chiacgo . The Chicago Subdivision is a triple track mainline that also serves BNSF freight trains. Metra trains use the line between Chicago and Aurora, IL. METX is the American Association of Railroads' reporting mark for Metra. About the image This image was scanned from a 35mm slide on a Nikon Coolscan 9000 ED film scanner. SLCC 101 - St. Louis, MO Rail Cruise America's St. Louis Car Company (SLCC) 101 (an EMD F9PHA) sits in one of the rail storage tracks at St. Louis Union Station. The locomotive was part of Rail Cruise America's dinner train that operated out of Union Station for many years. The dinner train operation was shut down sometime in 2005 and later on the various locomotives and passenger rail cars were sold off to the Kansas City Southern Railroad. The locomotives, two F9PHAs and two F7Bs, were then sold to Norfolk Southern (NS) for use with NS' executive train.
